  • RAY MALONE

    RAY MALONE

    Ray is an artist and producer, and the director of Heads Bodies Legs. Ray also provides creative, producing and access support for artists and organisations such as: Tate, Music Relief Foundation, Swallow's Wings Puppetry, Swing Sister Swing, Azmari Bet, Birth Rites Collection, Pan Intercultural Arts, Pangea Arts, Fetlesque, Elle Dillon-Reams and Immo Klink, amongst others.

  • ARKEM MARK WALTON

    Arkem is a performer, maker and creative-enabler. They work in such places as Discover Childrens Story Centre Stratford, the YoungV&A, the National Gallery and Glastonbury and Wilderness Festivals. In 2023 they took their first solo comedy show to Edinburgh Fringe. Arkem enjoys making songs, poems, stories and paper things, and their favourite animal is a Psychedelic Walrus.   • LU FIRTH

    Lu Firth is a costume designer, specialising in historical dress, gender and identity. Lu’s research ranges from: Social and deviant’s dress of Highway Women, South London tailors and the demise of the Haberdashers to ‘Dress, Trans Men and Women, and the Construction of Gender’.

    Lu has previously worked for Stonecrabs Theatre Company, Cool Tan Arts & Seachange Theatre. She has been teaching textiles & dress making for 20 years, currently with Oncourse South West in Plymouth. Lu has also worked with homeless communities for over 35 years, at present she works with and campaigns against homelessness with the LGBTQ+ Outside Project.

  • BECKY BUCHANAN

    Becky comes from a Traveller background and makes art which explores the themes of power and agency. Her multidisciplinary creativity includes installation, sculpture, assemblage and costume. Becky has published anthropological research on the politics of reproduction as well as creative non fiction on class with Lumpen.   • JULIET JACQUES

    Juliet is a writer and filmmaker based in London. She has published five books, including Trans: A Memoir (2015), Variations (2021) and Monaco (2023). Her fiction, journalism and essays have appeared in numerous publications, and her short films have screened across the world. She teaches at the Royal College of Art and co-hosts Novara FM.   • SELAM AMARE

    Selam is a cultural producer, comedian and advocate for migrant issues based in London. She works with Counterpoints on their No Direction Home comedy programme. Her own projects include Azmari, platforming her native Ethiopian culture by promoting Ethiopian music, styles, artists, food and performance. www.selamleethiopia.com

  • SARAH JAFFE

    Sarah Jaffe is a writer, journalist, media maker and general troublemaker. She is the author of Work Won't Love You Back: How Devotion to Our Jobs Keeps Us Exploited, Exhausted and Alone, and Necessary Trouble: Americans in Revolt. Her work has been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, Dissent, The Nation, Bookforum, and many other outlets, and she has collaborated with artists and performers across the Atlantic.

  • CAROLINE YAWA ADA

    Caroline is a puppeteer, a puppet maker, artist and workshop facilitator. She is the founder of Swallow's Wings puppetry, a grassroots community organisation that celebrates African Caribbean culture with children and their families as well as elders.   • ROSIE JONES

    Rosie May Jones is a multi-disciplinary artist and poet, specialising in spoken word, with a background in storytelling. She creates performances and visual narratives based on folklore, as well as historical and contemporary accounts. Her work explores social and environmental issues, such as: land rights, housing and our connection to the natural world.

    Sez is an artist and producer working in creative development and project direction.
